It seems like only 25 years ago...
Are there any lessons to be learned from twenty five years of fending for one’s self in the big scary world of advertising and marketing?
We bloody-well hope so.
This year, the company now known as Persuasion Arts & Sciences celebrates its quarter century of life.
We’re tempted to throw a giant soiree, filled with our hundreds of clients, collaborators, friends, family and boosters. At which we’d play a highlight reel of our finest moments. Make some teary and or ribald speeches. Then embarrass ourselves on the dance floor ‘til closing time.
Might still do that.
For now though, we want to share some stories, twenty five in all, in which we share the inside secrets of how we’ve survived and even thrived for so long: thinking differently, being honest even when it cost us, plotting, scheming, re-inventing, enjoying outrageous good fortune. Essentially, running hard and swerving often.
But also, because nostalgia is boring for those not directly involved, we will glean from our stories some lessons or observations that might be useful for today.
Hopefully this will not be an entirely self-involved exercise, and actually helpful. I’m sure you’ll let us know either way.
